Frenchy's
The Original" Frenchy's Cafe' opened in 1981. Frenchy, his partner Pete, and their friends worked together creating a restaurant with a casual atmosphere and the freshest seafood possible. They began with a menu loaded with local favorites, that still stands to this day, such as: The Original Grouper Sandwich, famous smoked fish spread, unbeatable Seafood Gumbo, baja tacos and more! They are located on Clearwater beach. It is THE spot to go to after a long day at the beach! While enjoying a nice Appetizer or meal you can sit in the restaurant or you can sit outside on the patio and watch the sunset. They also have a live band there sometimes everybody enjoys! i thin its the best stop to go to for great food and good people!

GPK
Greek Pizza Kitchen is a great combination of Greek and Italian food. The owners are a very nice Italian woman and a Greek man that knows his pizza. My personal favorite pizza of the ment would have to be the Big Fat Greek Pizza. This monster of a pizza could feed a whole family, plus a few. It takes a very long time to make because it is so thick and square. Their newest dessert is a Nuella pizza, a chocolate spreaf over a flakey crust makes just the right ending to a perfect meal. Greek Pizza Kitchen has so many soups, salad and sandwhich combinations. it is the perfect place for a lunch out with friends, or a family dinner!
Plakas
Tarpon Springs it mostly known for the famous Sponge Docks, located in the core of Tarpon. It has many small family owned shops, along with many Greek style cuizine restaruants. My personal favorite would have to be Plakas. Plakas is not very big, it is more like a hole in the wall, you dont see it at first glance. Its specialty is of course the Gyro. Plakas has been said to have the "Best Gyro in the world", so i just had to try one. I've learned over many years that the older greeks get very upset if you pronounce their specialty G-Y-R-O instead of the correct way, YEE-ROH. The staff working there was very nice and seem very personable. It was a great croud to be around! I ended up having the Gyro. It was delicious! So many flavors, and a homemade Tsziki sauce to cover it. It really was the "Best in the world".

Katz Restaurant
Located in Beautiful Tarpon Springs at 734 South Pinellas Ave
In the heart of Tarpon right next to Muzzies Ice Cream Shop is a new restaurant called Katz that just opened a little over a year ago. They Believed that cats were the protectors of children in accent times. So They wanted to make a fun place for adults, family, and friends. It has a very family oriented atmosphere that has a safe playground to keep the kids busy if the adults want to eat dinner. The also have music playing its mostly kids music but good for the parents also. But the food is what we gotta talk about! They have a delicious kids menu. They have everything from Angus burgers to fish sticks. Most of the entrees are served with fries. The locals that have lived here for a long time work there. They work in the kitchen to servers. And ''everybody loves working there''. Said Jorge Boffil who is a student at Tarpon Springs High School. If you ever want a good family restaurant to go to you should defiantly go to Katz Restaurant. Hellas Restaurant!
When you go to the sponge docks and go shopping you also look for a good restaurant that looks like everybody goes to and wont burn a hole in your pocket. One of the most well known restaurants in the sponge docks is Hellas. Since 1970 Hellas has been proud to be a cornerstone of the Greek community in Tarpon Springs. Family owned and operated Hellas gives back to their rich heritage by providing truly cultural cuisine. When you go there they are very welcoming and with the Greek design and music in this restaurant you feel like you are in Greece. Hellas is also right across the street from the water so you can sit on the patio and look out to the water while enjoying a Greek salad while listening to music. Most of the visitors come to have a Greek salad. But the Greek cuisine is allot more then the salad. You can get a Delicious gyro or a pasta with lamb with there tomato sauce. (: everything is home made there and all family recipes from generations to generations are made there also. Just want to get a pastry? you can also go to the Hellas pastry shop right next store! you can get there home made pastry's that are Greek or to something Italian. They have everything and anything for everybody who has a sweet tooth! :) I would definitely recommend coming to this restaurant on the sponge docks in Tarpon Springs.
